Threshold-free balcony doors

Threshold-free balcony doors made of Schüco profiles are easy to open and close, and allow safe passage. Barrier-free passage between the interior and the exterior requires providing space for movement in front of the door and eliminating physical obstacles.

To enable wheelchair use without restrictions, a clear passage width of at least 900 mm is required; or if this is not necessary, a minimum of 800 mm. In addition, the clear passage height according to DIN 18040-2 must be at least 2050 mm. Barrier-free balcony doors meet these standards and more, as they can have a maximum width of 1300 mm and a height of 2500 mm. Schüco joinery made of aluminium or PVC-U with a barrier-free threshold eliminates the risk of tripping and ensures a smooth transition to the patio or balcony.
